Bibliography
We will be using Google Slides to create our books and you will be able to scan or take a photograph of the work you have completed already to put in your book. No need to do things twice!
This section will include all of the important aspects of Geography that you have learnt so far about volcanoes, the location of Pompeii and a Plinian eruption. You can either create new pieces of information or you can copy (photocopy, scan, take a picture) of what you have already done. It will need to be informative, colourful and inviting to read.
This section will include the information about the importance of using primary sources of information when investigating the past. The focus is what you have learnt from the two letters that Pliny the Younger wrote about the eruption of Vesuvius.
This section will focus on how archaeologists are excavating the site of Pompeii and what they are learning from the artefacts, houses and streets that they are finding. You will include aspects of what the daily life of Pompeii was like and you can do this from one person's perspective. You will also include any findings that inform us of the eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD.
Throughout this whole process you will be assessed using the MYP IDU assessment criteria. For the product, this booklet, you will be assessed on Criteria B: Synthesising. For the conclusion you will be assessed on Criteria C: Reflecting “.. how new interdisciplinary understanding enables action.”
For the conclusion of your booklet you will answer one of the debatable questions form the box below. This section should be written in paragraphs on the second to last slide (s). You should aim to write at least two paragraphs to fully reflect on the question that is being asked.
