Activity One - Case Study One France
A case study is an investigation into a particular issue through a specific place. We use them in Geography to back up our answers in essays. As we are focusing on changes to birth rates through the encouragement or not of specific governments you will devise a case study for both a pro and anti-natalist policy.
Use the resources provided below to develop a case study for a pro-natalist policy in France. You will need to include the following sections:
- Why does France have a falling birth rate?
- What is the perceived impact of this declining birth rate?
- An outline of the pro-natalist policy in France.
- What has been the impact of this policy? Remember impact is both positive and negative factors.
Useful Resources
Develop a case study for an anti-natalist policy. China is the classic country to focus on but you could develop a case study for any anti-natalist policy. What ever country you decide to focus on make sure you cover the following questions/points:
- Why has the population grown so big?
- What is the perceived impact impact of this growth?
- An outline of the anti-natalist policy.
- What has been the impact of this policy? Remember impact is both positive and negative factors.
- How has this policy changed recently?
