Welcome to geogalot.com this website focuses on developing a series of resources to teach the IBO Middle Years Programme for Individuals and Societies (Humanities) and Diploma Programme for Geography.
Ellena Mart - About Me
I am the Head of the Individuals and Societies department at the International School of Geneva - Campus des Nations, but I am a Midlands girl at heart. I completed my BSc in Geography at Loughborough University before heading back to my hometown of Nottingham to undertake my Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Nottingham. I started my teaching journey in the UK state sector in a school located in Nottinghamshire. After beginning a Masters at the University of Warwick which focused on educational leadership and innovation, I finally left the Midlands to teach at Atlanta International School, USA. There I was introduced to the IB world and began to teach DP Geography. I have now been in Geneva for over 10 years and have taught three different DP Geography syllabuses, finished my Masters, assisted at various DP workshops and started this website.
Individuals and Societies at Campus des Nations
UPDATE - This site is currently being rebuilt and the link will no longer work. Sorry about this, the new site will hopefully be up and running soon. I initially began nationsinsoc.org as a way to celebrate what the students at Nations are currently learning within the Individuals and Societies department. The website will include examples of student work, information about the various trips that are run and the students will be able to see what choices they have within Group Three for the IB Diploma and IB Careers Programme.
